Earlier this fall, Global Risk Management opened a new office in Paris. In this connection, the company welcomes three new colleagues, Abde Semmar, Benoit Vergez and Philippe Develotte. The three comprise the current team in the company’s Paris entity. The office is located in the vicinity of the Opera in one of Paris’ important business districts.

Philippe Develotte will be heading the new office as CEO of Global Risk Management’s Paris office. Philippe joined the company on 1 December and comes from a position as Co-head of Energy Markets in a large international financial services company. He has over 20 years of experience from the banking and utilities sectors. Philippe has a Master’s degree in Trading from ESLSCA as well as a Master’s Degree in Economy and Financial Markets from Université Nancy.

Abde Semmar is Head of Sales, Paris, and comes from a position as Energy Head of Sales in a large international financial services company after holding positions within energy derivatives and commodities both in Paris and New York for several years. His educational background is among others from the American Business School. He started in his new position in Global Risk Management on 1 October 2019.

Benoit Vergez is Global Risk Management’s new Head of Trading, Paris, and joined the company on 1 November 2019. Benoit comes from a position as Senior Cross Commodity Trader within various energy-related commodities in a large international financial services company and has a Master’s Degree in Business from IE Brown and a Master’s Degree in Business and Finance from EM Strasbourg Business School.

Managing Director and CEO, Hans Erik Christensen, comments on the new team: “The three are highly qualified and experienced in their field of business with a wide network from international positions within trading and energy risk management. I am confident that the new team will bring valuable new business and additional professional competences to our company. The team is expected to grow as trading activities pick up and the fact that Paris is a financial trading hub, will likely facilitate the process of attracting new, qualified colleagues in due time.”

Global Risk Management is focused on growing both geographically as well as products and services wise. In the coming period, more details will be released on the new initiatives.
